Hi friends, A here! If you’re anything like me during this quarantine, you’ve been online shopping. And one of the best places for that is Amazon. Anything you think of, you can find on Amazon usually with Prime shipping. Today I want to share a few things I’ve bought recently for the cats on Amazon. All links below are Amazon Smile links benefitting Kindred Hearts Transport Connection, Inc. Meows & Makeup is not affiliated with KHTC.

My cats have been needing a tower for a while and since we moved into a new space recently, I thought a tower would help them settle into their surroundings. I wanted one that was big enough for both my cats together which was a little more challenging. They’re both pretty chonky haha so they needed wider areas to lay in and wider entrances for the cubbies. Leela also likes to hide in cubby spaces so that was a plus.

When I came across this one, it had good reviews and seemed big enough. It also looked soft, and it has multiple scratch areas which I liked. It got here quickly and was really easy to put together (just use the Allen wrench sent with the tower) and I could tell right away it would be a hit. Sure enough, I was right – they love this tower so much and both of them spend plenty of time hanging out on it. James loves to sleep on the bed up top, while Leela prefers a cubby hole and I’ve seen both scratch on the pads and play with the jingle ball. This tower is a big hit here and I definitely recommend it.

When I first adopted Leela, she had terrible ear mites that had gone untreated while she was at the rescue. A trip to the vet later, and we had meds for her ears and a cat diagnosed with at least partial hearing loss. Her mites went away but several months later, her ears were getting clogged up again with ear wax that was still being overproduced.

After doing some digging online, I found ZYMOX Pet Ear Treatment with Hydrocortisone. The reviews all raved about how it helped their pets without a costly vet visit so I quickly bought it. When it arrived, I tried it out in Leela’s most clogged ear. Directions say to use daily 7 days, or 14 days for chronic issues, so I put the drops in her ear once a day for a week. At the end of the week, her ear was SO much cleaner and I swear, her hearing has gotten better. You’re not supposed to use a cotton swab or anything with this, but I did need to use one to get some loose gunk that was hanging out at the edge of her ears so beware of that. Overall, I love this stuff and while the one bottle will last me a while, I definitely would recommend it and would buy again.

Unfortunately, both James and Leela deal with dry skin and dandruff. Leela seems to have it worse than James but I knew I wanted to get something I could use for both fo them. When searching for the Zymox, I stumbled on Burt’s Bees for Cats Natural Dander Reducing Spray.

Made with Colloidal Oat Flour & Aloe Vera, this spray claims to moisturize and deeply condition cat’s dry skin and reduce redness and/or flakes. For less than $6, I knew I wanted to dry it. When it came, I brushed my cats first to help remove some fur they’re shedding, then I followed directions on the bottle and sprayed both cats from back of ears to tail (avoiding the eyes) and brushed through. Immediately I noticed a difference for Leela (James doesn’t have as noticeable a problem so it was kind of harder to tell on her). She had way less dander and her fur was super shiny. My current routine involves brushing the kitty girls weekly and they each get a spray when they get brushed.

So that’s what I’ve bought on Amazon recently. The cats and I love the tower and the ear cleaner and dandruff spray have really helped both of them. What have you bought recently that you love? Sound off in the comments!
