Hi everyone, A here! One of my favorite makeup brands is Jeffree Star Cosmetics and his collaboration with Shane Dawson was no joke. When they teased the idea of collabbing way back in Shane’s docu-series about Jeffree’s life, people went NUTS. And tbh, I was one of those people.

I only really got into YouTube videos and makeup in the last year and a half; after I went through a big breakup, I used makeup as a kind of outlet for myself. Shane and Jeffree were some of the first YouTubers I came across, along with Tati, NikkiTutorials and of course the drama channels like Rich Lux and Karina Kaboom. But I digress!

I was HYPED about this collection. I watched every part of the new series they put out. I stalked Instagram and Twitter for the newest information from them and from Trendmood (she is ALWAYS on her game, y’all!) The day of the launch, I logged into my Beautylish account at like 10 am (EST) to make sure all my info was set.

If you’ve kept up with the drama, then you know it was a kind of a fustercluck to purchase. But I survived and managed to secure a bundle with both the Conspiracy and Mini Controversy palettes, in addition to the Are You Filming? liquid lipstick, and a single Conspiracy palette for a friend who had limited access to the internet.

Emily and I split the bundle, with me keeping the big Conspiracy palette. When I first saw it in the series, I kind of hated the color story. I didn’t understand it and I couldn’t imagine the flow. But right before launch, Jeffree broke it down in a way that made perfect sense.

Once I got the palette and opened it up, I fell even more in love that I thought possible. Looking at this palette, you can see the top row is neutrals that are perfect for everyday. The second row has some fun colors in it, which are great to add for a party or some event when you want a splash of color. The last row is my favorite, and is perfect for holiday glam.

Overall, I love this collection and I’m excited to dig into this palette some! I’ve only really had a chance to create a glam look (seen in this blurry picture, thanks cocktails) for a holiday party months ago but I have some big ideas coming.

(Side note: Am I the only one who hordes palettes and then forgets to use them? Ugh.)

As for the collection, I think the whole thing is really cool. Some of the colors are pretty extreme, like the Shane liquid lip, but they also feel really wearable and I love seeing how people style them. On top of that, the packaging is killer. Anna and Andrew knocked that out of the park.

Did you manage to snag anything from the Shane Dawson x Jeffree Star collection? Did you watch the series? Sound off in the comments below!
