Hi guys! It’s A and today I’m here to review the Melt Cosmetics Shape Shift Stack.

I’ve known about Melt Cosmetics and been a fan for a few years now. I have a couple of their palettes (Smoke Sessions from 2018 and Muerte from 2019) and I also have their Haze Stack. Their formulas are always really creamy and beautiful (and sometimes super delicate – looking at you Smoke Sessions) and I’ve enjoyed using their eyeshadows.

So I was really excited when I saw the Shape Shift stack. The colors are all incredible but in particular, the shade Shape Shift, which is a deep terracotta to bright jade duo-chrome, absolutely made my jaw drop. During a sale a few months ago, I decided I had to have it and snatched it up.

Now after all this time, I’ve finally had a chance to play with it and let me say: I’m obsessed. I’ve only played with 3 of the 4 colors (Chameleon (emerald with blue and green reflects), Delirium (intense mauve with a pink shift), and Shape Shift but I’ve enjoyed them all so far. Breaking it down by shade….

The first color I tried was obviously Shape Shift. I NEEDED to see that color in real life. I watched a YouTube review of the stack by KinkySweat aka Alicia and saw that it was recommended to use your fingers with these colors.

The formula is super smooth and using my fingers worked really well. I blended it out with a clean brush and then like Alicia, I went it with a nude color to kind of blend out the edges some more.

I really really loved how this looked and I think it really brought out the blue in my eyes. And with such good luck, I decided to move onto the next shade: Mimic.

I also really liked this shade on my eyes. I followed a really similar method of application as I did with the other shade, starting with my fingers and then blending it out with a brush.

I ended up going in with a darker shade of plum (Fetish from Jeffree Star’s Androgyny palette) to add a little dimension to the outer corner.

I was really pleased with this look but it didn’t really give me the shift it said it would deliver. I also thought the color was kind of similar to Shape Shift – it’s definitely more pink than shape shift but partly because of the color I added. Still, I love both and would wear both for every day looks.

The last shade I tried so far was Chameleon. It is a really pretty color in the pan and you can see the blue reflects in it so I was excited to try this one.

I used the same process as before: start with fingers, blend with a clean brush, and then blend with a neutral. I also used a little bit of SOMETHING from the JS x Shane Dawson Conspiracy palette as it is very similar.

I LOVED how this color turned out for me. It felt super glamorous but super wearable at the same time. I wore this with this cute sweatshirt from Target and felt amazing. In the future though, I would probably wear this dressed up but I like that I could wear it dressed down too.

And what’s the verdict? Normally I’m not a huge fan of using my fingers in my eyeshadow but it definitely was the best way to apply the shades in this stack. Each color blended pretty smoothly with a brush and blended nicely with the matte neutrals I used as well. I love how each of these colors looked and I will definitely wear these shades again like this. I can’t wait to try to mix them into other looks though or pair them together.
