Hey guys, it’s E here!

We just celebrated my mom’s birthday a couple month’s ago and I came up with a fun idea for a birthday present: I decided to make her a skincare routine. My mom falls into the 55+ age group and has never had a skincare routine, ever. I thought this would be something practical for her and fun for me to put together.

I started out doing some research as my skincare concerns are a little bit different than hers. I actually talked to A’s mom, who has AMAZING skin, about what kind of products I should be getting. She told me that my mom needed a good serum, eye cream, moisturizer, and sunscreen, so I set off to look for these products. She also gave me some other tips about washing your face twice a day and making sure to remove your makeup. I decided I wanted to stay cruelty-free which is something that is extremely important to me and my mom.

Finding all cruelty-free skincare products turned out to be a lot harder than I had anticipated. I eventually was able to navigate my way through and landed on these 6 cruelty-free skincare products for my mom. Some of them are the same or similar to products that I use, while others are more tailored to her age and skin concerns. Read below to see what I got!

The Mini MakeUp Eraser
This removes your makeup with just water. I personally love MakeUp Eraser and use one everyday to remove my makeup. It’s quick and easy plus environmentally friendly, eliminating the need for makeup-removing wipes. Plus it’s great for sensitive skin since it’s chemical free. They come in a variety of sizes and I would definitely recommend to anyone who wears makeup!

Pacifica Sea Foam Complete Face Wash
This is supposed to remove makeup, cleanse, and tone. It contains coconut water, sea algae complex, and powerhouse antioxidants. It is for all skin types, sulfate free, 100% vegan, and cruelty-free. Pacifica is a great cruelty-free skincare option. I ended up putting 3 of their products in my mom’s routine. I have personally used a different face wash by Pacifica that I really liked.

Pacifica Dreamy Youth Day and Night Cream
This moisturizer says it can help your skin “refuse to obey time.” It contains Fleuracell Complex with concentrated floral stem cells and powerhouse antioxidants. This is for all skin types, 100% vegan, and cruelty free.

Pacifica Pineapple Quench Oil-Free Water Serum
This serum is to help moisturize and prep your skin. It contains pineapple and hyaluronic acid and is for oily and combination skin types. This is a product that I have personally used and enjoyed.

Bliss Eye Do All Things Hydrating Eye-Gel
This is used to depuff and brighten the under eye area and has a cooling rollerball applicator. This is one of my favorite products that I use every day. I find that it works really well and makes a noticeable difference!

Bare Republic SPF 30 Face Mineral Sunscreen Lotion
This broad spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen is water resistant for 40 minutes. It is free of active chemical sunscreens, making it safe for wearing while swimming near coral reefs. I have used their face and body sunscreen lotion while SCUBA diving. I love that they are not only cruelty-free but also coral reef safe. This is great for every day wear and a must have for snorkeling.

UPDATE: My mom loved the MakeUp Eraser so much that she is actually now giving them as gifts to other people. She isn’t wearing a lot of make up right now and says that The Mini MakeUp Eraser is the perfect size for her. She also loves the Bliss Eye Do All Things Hydrating Eye-Gel and has continued to use it. She has switched to the Pacifica Pineapple Cleanse Oil Slaying Face Wash, which is actually the exact same one that I use. She did not like the serum or the face cream. She didn’t want to wear sunscreen every day as I suggested, but is planning to use it in the summer months.
